Back
on 15 November 2008, I wrote up a list of Churches in our Atlantic Area in Cape Town -- a relatively small, densely populated patch of ground (four by one miles). There were at least twenty Churches on my list.
Anglican (three)
Beth Ariel (Messianic Christian)
Christ Embassy
Destiny (Pentecostal)
Dutch Reformed
Evangelical Congregational (us)
French Congregation
Life Church (Assemblies of God)
Methodist
New Apostolic
Old Apostolic
Presbyterian
Roman Catholic (three)
United Church
Winning Souls (our associate Church)
Xhosa Congregation
And others ...
The Baptists, His People, and some missions were also active in the area at the time.
There were several synagogues. And Jehovah's Witnesses. The Church of England had just announced a Church plant. In spite of this profusion of Churches, our own Church grew and grew.
