Through my minstr(ies), nearly every year the Church's finances were saved by something unexpected -- and so it went with all the Churches around us. That is, they were saved by something not budgeted for. However, while my own Church(es) were saved by things not budgeted for, here's something interesting: they were never saved by things not planned. A major example is bequests. The deeper one got into my ministries, the more the bequests. And when one looked at the names on those bequests, I had asked virtually every one in person for that bequest. OBSERVATION: This is, needless to say, long-term financial policy, and it works well where there is stable ministry, or the hope of stable ministry. Continuity.
