A Different Memorial

I conducted a memorial service once for a woman who died in high old age. Before she died, she asked me to do something different at the service. She requested that everyone should sit in a circle and give informal tributes. It was one of the warmest and most memorable memorial services I have conducted. The impromptu tributes were a special highlight. OBSERVATION: However, it doesn't work all the time. It works if the deceased kept good company. One may imagine the tributes if this is not the case (and if the mourners have had one too many, or three or five).
