Photic Phone

Every now and then I check on my electronic designs to see what became of them after I sold the copyright. It is interesting to see that my Photic Phone, in spite of copyright restrictions, is now all over the Internet. One can order it for a cool R1 000+ ($75) from the Esskay Institute, and it is a popular final year Bachelor of Technology project. It transmits a voice over a light beam. OBSERVATION: It exceeded my expectations from the start. Standing in my yard to test it, there was howlaround at fifteen metres. My own estimated cost for a one kilometre voice transmission through air is R150 ($10). I don't think that will be far off.
