A common problem in ministry -- a big one -- revolves around the very core of the gospel. Ministers are either seen as instruments of grace, or as exemplars of law -- which in turn will depend a great deal on whether those who judge the minister are still under law or not. OBSERVATION: Ministers use a variety of strategies to neutralise the problem of being seen through the legalist's eyes: they overtly show the world that they are real, or they go about with great circumspection and timidity, or they remind people continually (though seldom explicitly) that ministers are one with the rest of us -- or any combination of these.
