I wrote to someone this week: "I am at the moment working through my second edition metaphysic with a Rhodes philosophy graduate, and he is feeding me grievous (though not impossible) questions." The work in fact finished today -- a book length manuscript in five weeks -- and the graduate's opinion in retrospect: "I relate to much of the metaphysic. It touches on reality ..." He had a good feel for the broader concepts, and was very helpful indeed. But now that we have a critique complete, we need the work of revision. OBSERVATION: I am thankful for wife E., too, who wisely reminds me that there are limits to what the mind can tackle all at once.
