This is a photo of the exterior of the Dutch Reformed Church (DRC) Van Wyksdorp (see yesterday's post). On the surface of it, it seems to break with the mirror image symmetry of DRC architecture. But this is a side view -- the front view is symmetrical. The Church does, however, forego the typical (offset) Dutch Reformed Church spire. OBSERVATION: Van Wyksdorp is found at an oasis in the Karoo. It is 360km / 220mi east of Cape Town. There are no tarred roads in or around the town.
