On Tuesday I recalled a photo which gave offence on this blog. I don't remember any others which did. I had conducted a large funeral -- but when I called for the pall-bearers to come forward at the end of the service, this had been forgotten -- none had been appointed. Six men jumped up spontaneously and picked up the coffin: they were of every race, religion, age, and status. I saw in these six men a great tribute to the man who had died. I needn't explain what others thought, and one can understand it. It was a motley lot, and I had shown this on my blog. The photo is of course no longer here.
