Appointments in urban ministry are hit and miss. At one stage it was so bad that I worked out that, statistically, there was only 25% chance that all the right people would be there at the right time. So for the first time in my ministry, over one day, I deliberately double-booked myself all the way through. This is how it went. For parallel sessions 1A and 1B, 1A were on time and went over-time, while 1B turned up for session 2. 2A didn't turn up, but 2B did, so that, at one point, I had 1A, 1B, and 2B there all at the same time. OBSERVATION: Actually, if one looks closely, it was not my experiment that failed. However, I didn't try it again!
