Wife E and I got into the car this morning, and there was a fault on the steering column. We looked at each other -- then she said: "Take it to the garage. Now." And so I did. I asked the mechanic whether he saw tampering, or sabotage. He said no. No tampering, no sabotage, but yes, a fault on the steering column. OBSERVATION: One should not have such thoughts in a parliamentary democracy with the rule of law. Such thoughts in themselves reveal that something is deeply wrong. This was a point that South Africa's (arguably) most famous investigative journalist, Jacques Pauw, made recently. We are not thinking normal thoughts any more.
