There are certain situations in photography where auto-focus just won't do. Here's an example -- wire art. And here is a problem -- an observation -- about my new Fuji X70 camera. I here use MF ASSIST to focus on the beads in the
foreground (right). The old Fuji X30 would have obtained perfect focus here. The X70 does not -- MF ASSIST merely assists. It gets you
close -- then you need observe the screen without it. It took me a while to unravel this mystery. I am of course pushing the camera to extremes here.
OBSERVATION: AF (auto-focus) on the X70 is excellent, but as I say, MF (manual focus) is sometimes a must.
