Still-Born Child

This morning wife E and I attended an Anglican memorial service for a still-born child -- born too soon to survive. The service was well attended. The preacher asked the congregation who had attended such a service before. It was less than a tenth of the people present. OBSERVATION: From my experience of bereavement, such a service is a good thing. The preacher said it was to help us understand. I would add, "to understand God's ways" -- but that is what he meant. The couple handed out a bookmark with Psalm 139:13-16: "For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb ..."
