Bridging Cultures

People have said they admire me for bridging cultures as I do. These cultures are really very different: English and Xhosa -- or of Xhosa origin. It is also a challenge to my physical endurance. But firstly, my "other world" is very considerate. They continually amaze me. This has helped me a lot. The Xhosa nation are in fact famous for their love of strangers, through the Mfecane. Also, at the start of my visits "into Africa", I set my mind on giving of myself, and honouring their ways. Sometimes I may really need a break -- culture shock is real -- then I take a few hours out by myself.
