Summit Attempts

I had forgotten how many attempts I made on a metaphysic (total philosophy). This week, I came upon a ragged folder which contains eight attempts I made in the 1980s. These were no dress rehearsals. I was doing the real thing -- but in every case, I got stuck and closed the attempt. It was only some twenty years later that I felt that I "had the cat in the bag", and it was 2014 when I first proved it, at the invitation of the philosophy weekly Philosophical Investigations. Last year a well known philosopher wrote to me: "You have clearly achieved what you set out to prove."
