I have begun to approach manufacturing retailers with my latest invention. Over the years, I have sold 100+ designs -- 100+ being a conservative estimate -- with about 90% success. Companies have snatched at my designs -- such that I have often done a deal within 24 hours. But here, I have tried two manufacturing retailers so far, which are household names. The first said they do business with blacks, which presumably means "Goodbye". The second said I should call the business manager, but they didn't know his name -- and business managers are instant death to innovation (see, for example, Innovation vs. Operations). OBSERVATION: I now have a third manufacturing retailer in my sights. Therefore, while I have only tried twice so far, it looks to me that South Africa is very apathetic about innovation. If you happen to be interested in a food-related product, my e-mail is scarborough@fuller.edu.
