It's
a photo of me at the Caledon court (I am on the left). I received a call from the Caledon police today, saying that they wished to serve summons on me (presumably as a state witness). I said: "You are playing games ... this game must stop." I terminated two calls from them, unfortunately. So far, they have summoned me several times informally, several times formally -- for which, every time, I undertake a long journey -- where this did not serve a useful purpose, or did not have a lawful mandate. In this 24-second clip (above), I am speaking with the Caledon prosecutor, his being the South African accent: "I don't know why they subpoenaed you ... What is going on here? ... We are wasting time
again." Again. I can't see how this would differ from harassment.
OBSERVATION: I have great respect for the police, but they must not persist with abnormal behaviour. Then a citizen may say no, stop. I estimate that I have travelled between 1
000 and 2
000 km (say 1
000 miles) for nothing. That's like London to Warsaw.
POSTSCRIPT: The next day, I received a call from Police Management, who are kindly following this up. I said to the Caledon police, have the prosecutor give me a call. The prosecutor can tell me whether this is another useless order or not.
