At seminary, I was deeply influenced by the philosophical theologian Dr. Francis Schaeffer. Recently his memory has become more problematic, as some have debated his (unintended) influence on current affairs. He was a friend of US presidents, and founded the famous L'Abri Fellowship. I see his enduring contribution as his emphasis on presuppositions, and his holistic view of the world. I still find his books valuable and interesting. This week I was privileged to receive an endorsement for my own "panoramic philosophy" from the president of the Francis A. Schaeffer Foundation.
