'Encouragement' Portfolio

Under my ministr(ies), every elder and deacon has had a portfolio. An unusual one, which we introduced together, was an “Encouragement” portfolio. What the "Encouragement" elder did was to arrange for someone each Communion Sunday to address the Church for three minutes on a subject which is basic to the Christian faith -- such as prayer, Bible reading, fellowship, assurance, to encourage. OBSERVATION: I said to the elder concerned: “Try to include everyone in this -- old and young and Black and White.” She laughed and said: “I’m just going to ask the deacons.”
