Several years ago, I received a call from the secretary of a city specialist who had treated me from time to time. She said something like this: "Good morning, Reverend. An officer of your Church has requested your medical files. Just checking that it's all in order." This was news to me. I said: "What does she want with my files?" The seceretary didn't know. I said no. My files should go to nobody without my permission. I e-mailed the specialist to confirm that. OBSERVATION: This wasn't well intentioned. If it had been, one would have asked me first. Specialists are under obligation not to hand out patients' files.
