Sourcing the various quotes in my (we hope) forthcoming book, I was surprised to see how often I quoted persons who had a "positive" philosophy: Peirce, Comte, Bergson, Whitehead, Teilhard, and so on. One could include Marx. This seems all the more striking as I do not like such philosophy. Perhaps the number of "positive" quotes I have is due to some of my education being at a "positive" seminary. OBSERVATION: It is a stream of philosophy which has had a major impact on theology -- in particular narrative, postliberal, and postmillennial theology. In South Africa, I have the sense that most theologians do not know what this is. It is of such major import that it is vital that they know.
