For several days -- in moments here and there -- I have been seeking to design what I call an omni-detector. It should detect fairly much everything: coins, alcohol, fire, motion, charge, you name it. Today I ran two radio frequency oscillators, fed them to a mixer, and tuned them to lock. For the first time, I had not mere intimations of success, but the lock was total, so that my device's output was dead. Then, when it detected my hand through a table, the lock was broken, and the output sprang to life. OBSERVATION: My next priorities are to get better control of the lock, and better control of the output. Normally, with electronic design, one would look up sample circuits, or do circuit simulation -- but I am doing unorthodox things, which are beyond such help.
