I had the joy of owning two of the world's smallest radios: the Soviet
Astrad Orion, and the British
Sinclair Micromatic. Looking for them on the Internet the other day, I kept running into my own design (pictured). This was a miniature all-band radio, here shown without battery, dials, and aerial coil. Here in Cape Town, it picked up stations on five continents.
OBSERVATION: Electronics enthusiasts will see that this could be greatly reduced in size with SMT. Finger dial presets could be used. My original design is at
All-Band Radio.
