Bodhi Linux

I had hoped to write a positive review of Bodhi Linux (pictured). However, it failed one of my crucial tests. I installed LibreOffice Writer, but Writer continually vanished off the screen. This is a basic tool. However, I would guess that this problem is specific to my computer or a small range of computers. More generally, Bodhi Linux is a pared down operating system, quite snappy, with limited options (fairly much set as the programmers decided it), aimed I would think at developing countries where computers and connections may be limited. It has gaudy colours to suit. Its App Store required a password which was nowhere to be found. However, a large variety of software could be downloaded through Synaptic, which comes as standard. It was easy to get persistence going with mkusb. OBSERVATION: It is a pity that so many Linux systems are so good, yet fail on just one or two points. There are in fact Linux systems which do not fail on any points at all, or can easily be adjusted or adapted (I am using one now).
