Backward Business
Business in South Africa is simply backward. Yesterday I sought to order components to build my latest electronic design times three. I tried seven electronics stores. My most important components were batteries, piezo sirens, and power MOSFETs (a type of transistor) -- very common parts. One store's website crashed. I couldn't use it. Another was (say) three times the price of the rest, which meant massive cost. Two stores had no batteries in stock. Two had only one power MOSFET in stock, another had only two. Four stores had no piezo sirens in stock. One store had a 30-day delivery service, plus seven days in the event of a delay. I finally placed my order with a store which said they had everything in stock. In fact, they only had half the items in stock, their payment method failed, and their delivery wasn't working. I withdrew the order. Now to think again ...
