I visited the USA in 1996, and again in 2003. The ‘temper’ had changed. I said it was like apartheid pre-1994. It couldn’t be sustained. In my metaphysics, I set a subsection aside to consider ‘compassion’ in society. Besides structure, economy, policy, security, and so on, the mood of the people matters.
OBSERVATION: But in our reductionist world, there isn't as much room for that as there is for all the rest. Mood is something that speaks of the whole.
