Church Balance

There is a balance in the Church which seems hard to put into words, but it is quite important – at times critically important. It is the balance between the people and the purpose of the Church. The life of some Churches is too much focused on the people, while the life of others is too much focused on the purpose of the Church. OBSERVATION: Perhaps one can put it like this: One can so have one’s eyes on the people that one takes one’s eyes off the purpose of the Church. And one can so have one’s eyes on the purpose of the Church that one takes one’s eyes off people.
