Analysing Philosophical Societies
I put 30,000+ words each of the Philosophy Sharing Foundation (PSF) and the Philosophical Society of England (PSE) through computer analysis. The PSF requires Philosophy 101 of its readers, the PSE Philosophy 201. The PSF scores 6% for strength of style, the PSE ... nil. The PSF is more colloquial than the PSE. Both like jargon. OBSERVATION: Philosophy generally scores low on strength of style. 0% and 6% are not out of the ordinary. In fact, 6% is quite good. No major metaphysician scores 6%. (But my own major work scores 48%, my fictional metaphysics 70%).
