Secret Foe

Here's a story I have never told before. In 2008, xenophobic riots broke out across the city. Many of our Church members were foreigners, and suffered persecution. I came under strain as a minister and (see elsewhere on my blog) was booked off work with burnout, from 14 to 21 May 2008. During that week, my doctor gave me a call. He said, "J. just came by. He asked to have you committed. I thought you ought to know." OBSERVATION: This is, of course, very serious. It could have meant the end of my ministry. I returned to work after a week as planned. It was someone in my closer circle.
