Ratcheting Up Quality

It's been a while since I have had a second edition, book length (popular) metaphysic in hand. Yet it is one thing to have a manuscript, another to have a manuscript which is accurately and effectively written for a given public. With the first edition, I had editorial oversight -- though not with the second. I first did several sweeps of the second edition: checking, in turns, clarity, accuracy, style, and so on. I had most chapters published in their own right, thereby obtaining peer review and some public feedback. This week, another piece of the puzzle came together: I engaged a philosophy graduate to do a thorough check of the facts and concepts. OBSERVATION: I had to think long and hard on this most recent step. One can find people to read such a work, but to critique it is another matter.
