Administration / Visitation Week

Every three months in ministry, I have had an Administration / Visitation Week. During such a week, I have been off preaching, although I may have had a small role in the service, among other things welcoming the congregation. The reason for this is that, when a Church gets to be a certain size, ministry tends to be driven by exigencies. An Administration / Visitation Week allows the minister to focus on members who have not "needed" a visit, to focus on administrative tasks which have accumulated, and to do the kind of forward thinking that there isn't room for during other weeks. During such weeks, I have also sat down with the Church address list, and prayerfully surveyed all of the members and adherents.
