As Plain As A Pikestaff

A deaconess approached me a few years ago, after the Sunday service, and said: "Suppose, Thomas, that we had a hundred people in Church this morning. One of those hundred is the source of discontent -- over and over again. The other ninety-nine are all content. Where then does the problem lie?" OBSERVATION: This was one of those situations one might call "as plain as a pikestaff", yet one might miss it if one examined it too closely. Stand back as our deaconess did -- in any situation -- and one may see that it really comes down to that person, this family, those relationships. It is, I suppose, what one calls spiritual discernment.
