I wrote yesterday about a “strange reality”: people who are unwilling to see evil when it stares them in the face. There is something “like unto it”, but the very opposite, and again quite common: people who readily assume evil where it is unlikely. In my experience, ministers in particular fall prey to this. Over the years I have heard that I myself was involved in witchcraft, massive fraud, “unspeakable things” -- even murder. OBSERVATION: There were two men who went by the name of the murdered man. To my surprise, I met the man in the street who I thought I had murdered. I said: “I thought I murdered you!” He said: “You murdered the other guy.” That rumour I took quite seriously. Next thing there could be reprisals.
