Strain And Conflict

One might imagine that the strain on a minister is greater when he or she experiences conflict in the Church. I think, not necessarily. The strain may be much the same when the Church is apparently going like a bomb, and is filled with power and joy. On the one hand, there may be crises which a minister deals with which people don’t see – on the other hand, there may be the “ordimary” strain of Church life, which can be (much) greater when things go well. According to two (extreme) statistics I have, as few as 5% of ministers may survive the strain -- any strain -- over the duration of their ministry. Which is, 95% may not endure in ministry. However, that is the USA. OBSERVATION: The positive in this is that the strain may not necessarily be ramped up for a minister where there is conflict.
