I blogged yesterday about ministry and time logs. Some ministers may keep such time logs in the interests of self-preservation. They can show the Church then what they have done with their time. But actually, I think it does no good. If there is the will to subvert a minister without a time log, there will be the will to subvert a minister with one. In fact, producing a time log might do more harm than good -- it can easily be picked apart. Apart from time logs, though, one just needs to look at the statistics to know that nearly all ministers work overtime. There will very rarely be an indolent minister. OBSERVATION: Something I myself have done is present to Church members, at every Church Meeting, what I am doing with my time, and what I plan to do with my time, in an informal way. I think that is a good plan, but it is not failsafe either. You can announce that you will do this, and someone will say that you didn't do that.
