At the time of the close of my city ministry in 2013, I spelled it out, that the vision that strong-minded people had for the Church would see it go into steep decline. I said this to the assembled Church. One old man was angry with me afterwards, challenging me to explain myself. I did, to some extent, but some things are difficult to explain. Last week someone said to me: “After you left, the Church went down, down, down, down.” OBSERVATION: I doubt that some would understand it even now -- and I wonder what people say to themselves now. I know that some have sought to shift the blame. What a Church is all about, ultimately, is ministry being done.
