Sometimes I pray: "Lord, give me some good news" -- because good news may be in short supply. Today, He did give me some good news. Some authorities called me up, asking me for a missing piece of evidence. Did I have it? Yes, I said, I had it, and I would send it over. It appears to me that another significant decision, relating to circumstances surrounding the close of my urban ministry, may fall in my favour. These have been very slow decisions. OBSERVATION: In fact the decisions and recommendations almost all of them have gone in my favour -- but people on the wrong side of them seem to prefer to ignore them for as long as they possibly can. Politicians are derided when they do that, but not apparently Churchmen.
