Assegaaibos

I took this photo of Assegaaibos (on the right of the photo) -- a hamlet in the Eastern Cape, here under the setting moon, the distant valley is shrouded in mist. Nothing happens here. A narrow-gauge railway station was closed many years ago. It is the closest settlement to Suuranys, where wife E grew up. Suuranys itself is on the other side of the hazardous Suuranys Pass, here seen in the foreground. It is nicknamed The Car Wrecker. My sister, the first time she traversed the pass, SMS'ed me afterwards: "The pass did not claim us." I may have been over it fifty times by now. You may click on the photo to enlarge.
