Ministry And Philosophy

I am in the unusual position of being a minister in a world of philosophy (I am a supervising editor, and a deputy editor). There is an invisible line between philosophy and religion, which should not be crossed. I was reminded of it this week, when I published a bio which crossed the line. Since it was a bio and not an article, I hadn't treated it with the usual rigour. The bio has since been rewritten. OBSERVATION: However, in my own philosophy environment, there is no hostility towards religion -- in fact an openness towards it, as long as it is dealt with in a scholarly way. It is meaningful to be there, too. Among other things, I may bring balance to unbalanced views, and may comment both privately and publicly.
