Reference Books

One of the best things I did was to build a small library of reference books in theology, philosophy, and psychology in particular. They become faithful companions over the years -- unlike, it seems to me, the Internet. This morning I referred to The Fontana Dictionary of Modern Thought, and The Oxford Companion of the Mind. Reference books which I have greatly appreciated are, among others, The New Dictionary of Theology, Louis Berkhof's Systematic Theology, The Collins Dictionary of Sociology, The Oxford Dictionary of Philosophy, and The Cambridge Dictionary of Philosophy. OBSERVATION: And some complete duds: The Penguin Dictionary of Religions, and the Oxford Concise Dictionary of the Christian Church.
