Addressing Needs

Wife E tonight interviewed an atheist for an assignment (the final semester of her degree), and I joined her. She asked him first: "Why do you not believe in God?" He answered: "I have no need to believe in God." OBSERVATION: Here is something of primary importance to urban ministry -- less, I feel, to suburban or country ministry. One needs to address the needs -- the spiritual needs -- and make it clear to people what the needs are, where they do not grasp them. If that aspect of ministry is weakened, I think one doesn't stand a fighting chance in urban ministry.
