In city ministry, we sought over years and years to create a Church which held together everyone -- and by God's goodness, we achieved it. I blogged in 2012: "In our Church, we have charismatics and traditionalists, rich and poor, Black and White, old and young, new Christians and mature Christians -- and so on -- all in one Church. Usually Churches are fairly homogeneous -- which means the same kind of people." OBSERVATION: Acts 13:1 is often given as an example of the diversity of the New Testament Church. I have said that this is quite a trick -- but I have also said that it is quite easy. It certainly is very special. I believe that it hinges on "positional unity" in Christ. I think a Church needs to be that way for there to be spiritual health.
