I have from time to time sought out people of interest, to hear their experiences first hand. One such person was Darlene Keju (pictured) who I met on Majuro atoll in 1994. She told me that she had seen the flash of an atomic bomb, and had undergone many operations for tumours since. I discovered recently that she died two years later, of cancer. After her death, she was named Pacific Person of the Year. Wikipedia says about her: "Keju is credited for bringing to the attention of the world the
suffering of the Marshall Islanders as a result of the nuclear testing." OBSERVATION: Even so, few people know about this disaster.
