Invention Seventeen: AM Radio

Recently I designed a dual-channel magnetometer. With the block diagram in my head, an AM radio appeared. An AM radio often uses an envelope demodulator -- in this graph, extracting the analytic signal in red from the radio signal. But notice that the bottom of the radio signal is lost. Now flip the bottom upside-down, and one has a more powerful analytic signal. So the circuit would look like this: amplify the radio signal, demodulate times two, and mix (I think of variations, too). OBSERVATION: Is this really new? Put it this way, I have designed AM radios, but am not familiar with this.
