Here's something I couldn't possibly have done in earlier ministry, which I have often done in later ministry. In earlier ministry, I had to solve problems, if it meant working on them into the early hours of the morning. Now I seldom if ever sit up with problems, even if they are quite serious ones. Instead, I often set aside a day (typically Thursday) to get stuck into the problems -- and until Thursday I set them aside. OBSERVATION: The big question is, how am I able to do it so differently now? I am not too sure. Perhaps I am more sure that, slow or fast, the problems will be solved. I also separate them out, so that they are not nagging me. Faith has a big part to play.
