Minister Uncle

I took this photo some years ago, of an uncle (my mother-in-law's brother). Today his hair is whiter. Like many of my family (my family through my wife), he is a minister -- in an African Initiated Church (AIC), the Gospel Messengers. On first impressions, it is a Pentecostal Church, but it is not. He is also a successful businessman -- several years ago, as an employee under pressure, he quit and set out on his own. I have heard him referred to as "Groot Man" (Great Man). He is one of the hubs of the family, and enormously generous with his time and money. He does a lot to bind the family together. OBSERVATION: The food is potjiekos -- a stew. I always look forward to potjiekos.
