Silverleaf Trees

I took this photo of a silverleaf tree (Leucadendron argenteum) not far from my home. Having lost about three-quarters of their (small) natural range, these trees are now "threatened". On 27 January this year, a forest of them was burnt down in a fire which even appeared on the BBC. The trees died, but they released their seeds. But then a storm came up, and swept the seeds away. Two foresters explained to me that this did not augur well. Nearly a year later, as best I can see, the forest does not show signs of recovery.
