It strikes me again, with a friend request I received today from the Pacific, that one often cannot tell from a Pacific person's profile who they are -- for the reason that they are always in company, and nowhere identifiable as an individual -- in fact they might not even be there in the company. With friends of European origin, one can mostly tell who they are by their profile picture -- the profile picture focuses on them as an individual. OBSERVATION: I find something similar in Africa, although not as strong. I have some African friends where one would not be able to tell from photographs which one is them. (And at first, I was quite puzzled when my wife-to-be said, "We love you.")
