There is a website which describes 23 types of belt buckles (pictured). I have designed three more, all of which are a radical departure -- not a variation on the theme -- from those that we know -- and each is completely different from the other. All three have passed proof-of concept, but one of them is just too hard for me to engineer. The other two I am wearing, to see how they work in daily use. One is particularly promising -- made of a single piece of steel. The third works nicely, but perhaps not well enough. If you have an interest, let me know!
OBSERVATION: "Perhaps not well enough" would indeed be well enough at a price, but good design means functionality
and low price.
