Intimate Partner Violence

I have been following a missing person story in the USA, which is now a murder story. A young woman was strangled by (apparently) her partner on a tour in a camper van. It is a terrible story. At the same time, young people think that they can be free without consequences. Consider this paper, Intimate Partner Violence, co-written by eight researchers. Their findings: "Cohabitating women were approximately 2.1 times more likely than married women to present with head, neck, or facial injuries," and so on. The solution for the authors is "screening programs" (early detection). I can't see that working.
