Genius or Rubbish

When I wrote my magnum opus -- my original metaphysics -- a bestselling philosopher told me, “You need six endorsements.” I showed him one. He said, “With an endorsement like that, you don’t need any more.” I'm glad to report that it is looking that way for my new book, too. OBSERVATION: In the lonely quest of creating something new, one may wonder whether one has created a work of genius, or a worthless screed. How is it that there are moments that one can't tell the difference? In this case, the first person I showed my new work responded, "Wow!" The second person I showed it responded, "Wow!" (exactly the same response). Then a publisher snapped it up as a "hot project". Now the endorsements are coming in.
